Alexander Pedals Wavelength
The Wavelength is a modulation powerhouse. For purposes of this review, I'll be focusing on the tremolo found in the pedal.
This pedal offers 2 very cool features over it's predecessor the equilibrium.
The first cool feature is there is not a mode switch for standard/harmonic tremolo. Instead they've implemented a knob for switching between these. Having this knob means you can blend in any amount of regular/harmonic tremolo that you want! So you can make your harmonic tremolo full blown effecty, or you can have it as subtle as you like. This allows all sorts of various combinations to choose from.
The second absolutely awesome feature is that you can ramp between any 2 settings. ANY 2 settings on any knob. This means you can ramp from slow to fast speeds wile simultaneously dialing back the depth etc... this is just one example. That is an extremely powerful feature, and I can't think of a single other tremolo that does this. The ramp can be anywhere from instant to 10 seconds, which is a large range as well!
In addition, you are able to choose the wave shape of the tremolo (as well as on other modulation types, which is even cooler)
When compared with the Equilibrium (The original), I found that the Wavelength was quite a bit brighter. It still sounds good, but for those expecting the equilibrium sound, the EQ'ing is different enough that you'll surely notice a difference. Especially with the Harmonic Tremolo. This may or may not be good depending on what you expect.
Now here we have just examined the Tremolo side of things, but the pedal offers all sorts of other modulation effects. Vibe (As in Univibe), Vibrato, Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Filter. Alexander pedals is pretty much giving away the house on Mod effects. Given you'd pay probably about the same price for any one of these effects, this pedal is a killer deal.
Kudos to Alexander Pedals for forward thinking.
