MojoHand FX Bayou Tremolo
There is not a whole lot to say about this tremolo. It is pretty much your standard fair for controls, on the surface anyways.
The one highlight is that the volume control can take you from no volume at all to a very large gain boost. This can allow you to overdrive your amp at higher settings which is nice.
While the Bayou trem is billed as a Bias type trem. The wave form is not all that smooth through the majority of its range.

I would say the way the depth knob interacts with the wave shape is the defining characteristic of this tremolo. That either makes or breaks it for you. Because you are not just affecting depth here. You are affecting the wave shape in the cycle.
At maximum depth, you have a mix between a sine...ish style wave, and a square wave. It's almost half and half in the cycle. So it sounds choppy, but you are not getting a completely off volume. In fact, this tremolo sounds pretty choppy anywhere past 1 or 2 o'clock on the depth knob. Once you get to noon things start to smooth out a little bit.
Each cycle has a longer rise time, and a more abrupt fall time, which also contributes to its choppy sound at higher depth settings.
At first I really didn't care for this trem pedal. My usable range on this thing is probably well before noon. But something unique about it kept me coming back. The unique character of the wave started to grow on me.
At about 9 o'clock on the depth knob it is just enough to be quite subtle, but still somewhat noticeable. It's one of those tone sweetener settings that sounds great on moody blues licks.
Ultimately this trem came off a bit on the choppier side on higher depth settings, and since I do not tend to gravitate towards choppy I about wrote it off. But the uniqueness of the wave shape beckoned me to come back and give it another shot, and I'm glad I did. In my book, this is a keeper.
Last thing to note, this trem does not go super fast or super slow. But the range it does give you is very useable.
Slowest: ~410ms
Fastest: ~88ms
